Say you’re an investment banker, and you feel like you’re destined to do something else/more. At first, you are aware that there’s a dissonance with where you are — your life may feel like a t-shirt that just doesn’t fit anymore.
You have this growing feeling you want something more. You want to make a more meaningful contribution.
It’s clear, isn’t it? Yes, and it’s also vague. That’s when I come in to work with you and we start to create your new reality.
◆ We work to build a vision of this reality.
Like you would work with an architect to design your new home, we co-design what you want your new career to be like.
◆ We work to map the specifics and the attributes of this new reality.
We explore your core values that will drive you towards the achievement of this goal. We understand your natural strengths that will support you and the skills you would want to develop.
◆ We test things out; we take action.
The path to move you forward towards your goal, your career transition, may not be crystal clear on Day 1. That’s why we will test many things out, experiment, take action, grow.
◆ We implement.
Your transition is an iterative process. I partner with you and coach you through this transition.
When should I reach out to a Career Transition Coach?
As a career transition coach, I support you as you make a significant career change and this may happen at anytime in your career.
Over the past 5 years, here are the most common times I’ve worked with my clients:
- You are returning to work after a career break.
- You are returning to work after a maternity leave / paternity leave / parental leave.
- Your role has recently been made redundant
- You are a trailing spouse, returning to work.
- You are in a role where things don’t feel right anymore.
My expertise to support your career transition
I am your coach and your growth partner during this intense time of hard work and transition.
Your expertise is you and you are responsible for taking action.
My expertise is on coaching frameworks – powerful questioning, finding out core values, assessing your strengths, leadership and cross-cultural contexts – which I will use as relevant to your goals. I will also be your accountability partner during this time and I will work alongside you to design an action plan that sets you up for success – whatever success means to you on your own terms!
